Michael brings nearly fifteen years of experience in civil rights and disability rights advocacy to his investigations practice. He served as a Senior Staff Attorney at Disability Rights Advocates, a non-profit in Berkeley that litigates high impact disability rights cases, and spent over a decade at Rosen Bien Galvan & Grunfeld LLP, a prominent civil rights law firm in San Francisco. Throughout his career, Michael has litigated complex class action and impact cases on behalf of people with disabilities, including incarcerated individuals with disabilities, and other historically marginalized communities. In these roles, he investigated complaints of discrimination and other misconduct, interviewed clients, class members, and prison staff to monitor compliance with remedial court orders, consent decrees, and settlement agreements, and prepared reports detailing his findings. Michael has been recognized repeatedly for his legal work, including being named California Lawyer Attorney of the Year and a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2016-2021.

Michael’s passion for fostering healthy, inclusive workplaces led him to transition to a career in workplace and Title IX investigations. Michael brings the diligence and care that he developed as a civil rights litigator to his investigations work while approaching each investigation with a commitment to thoroughness and impartiality.
